Out of hours service
If you or a family member urgently needs to see a doctor when your GP practice is closed follow these instructions:
- Telephone your GP practice
- Listen to the answer machine message for the out of hours telephone number
- When you call the out of hours number you will speak to someone who will advise you what to do next
- If you need to see a GP, you may be directed to a health centre near you or they may organise a home visit for you.
This service is only for urgent medical problems that cannot wait until the next working day to be treated. It is not an extension of the normal services you receive from your surgery such as repeat prescriptions or routine appointments.
